Tired of just plain water? But need to increase your water/liquid intake? We hear you! Here are some zero calorie drink recipes to keep you hydrated, reduce cravings and feel refreshed!
If you’re hungry, slowly drink a glass or mug of one of these delicious beverages. Once you’ve finished, your hunger will likely have (temporarily) passed.
Lemon Herb Cucumber Water
- 1/2 cucumber
- 1 lemon
- 2 sprigs rosemary
- 1 handful thyme
- 1 handful mint
Wash and thinly slice 1/2 cucumber and 1 lemon. Fill a pitcher with water. Add lemon slices, cucumber slices, and herbs. Refrigerate for 1 hour before serving. NOTE: You have the option to cut off the lemon rind. Lemon rind can taste slightly acidic if not paired with a melon or fruit.
Coffee with Cinnamon and Nutmeg
- cup of hot coffee
- a pinch (1/8 of a teaspoon) of ground cinnamon or 1 cinnamon stick
- a pinch(1/8 of a teaspoon) of nutmeg
Add cinnamon and nutmeg to your hot coffee. At PTF we recommend staying away from cream and creamers in your coffee. This allows you to add some flavor to spice up that coffee. If you must use creamer, use a no calorie powdered creamer. You can also make this and put it in the fridge, then power over ice for delicious iced coffee.
Ginger Tea with Cinnamon
- ginger tea (or ginger and lemon tea)
- a pinch (1/8 teaspoon) ground cinnamon or 1 cinnamon stick
Boil water and add Ginger tea bag. Add cinnamon. Cinnamon and ginger are known for their appetite-suppressing power. So drink up and reduce those hunger cravings.
Lemon Lime Basil Water
- 1 lemon
- 1 lime
- 1 handful basil
Wash and chop up basil. Thinly slice lemon and lime. Fill a pitcher with water. Add lemon and lime slices and basil. Refrigerate for 1 hour before serving.
Hot Water with Lemon and Rosemary
- 1 lemon
- 2 sprigs rosemary
Boil hot water. Cut up lemon into slices. Add the lemon and rosemary to the hot water and let sit for 15 minutes. This is a great way to warm up and stay hydrated.
