I would greatly appreciate some more information about the product called for: artificial sweetener comes in many forms…some do not stand up to heat, some are powdered, some come in tablets, and some are liquid. HELP! I’d like to make the almonds, but am at a loss as to what to use for the artificial sweetener. Thanks!

Hi Lynne,
Good point! We really should have said to use powdered Splenda in these recipes.
If you prefer to use powdered Stevia, you will have to adjust to taste because Stevia is typically sweeter than Splenda. So for the bacon recipe, 1/3 cup would definitely be too much!
In both cases, the powdered form would be best so you can shake a little on and taste as you go. Honestly, when we make the almonds here we don’t even measure. They are really yummy, and smell so good as they bake.

I have had ovarian cancer but beat it. I also have non alcoholic fatty liver disease. I need to have healthy foods to live longer.

Hi Caren!
Wow, I’m so glad you were able to beat your cancer.
I know that a high sugar diet can be a cause of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Has your doctor advised you to cut down on sugar and simple carbs?
