Here are some super cute and healthy Halloween treats to make with the kids. PLUS some low-carb Halloween ideas that will help you stay on track too!
Be sure to make these early in the day so you and the kids can fill up on healthy treats before trick-or-treating.
Healthy Halloween Treats for the Kids
Your kids will love these healthy Halloween treats made from apples, oranges, and bananas.
Apple Monsters
Ingredients:
Granny Smith apples
Peanut butter
Strawberry slices
Sunflower seeds
Candy eyes
Instructions:
- Quarter and core the apples. Cut a wedge for a mouth out on the skin side.
- Press sunflower seeds on the upper edge of the wedge cut out for teeth.
- Use a butter knife to dab some peanut butter inside the lower edge of the wedge cut out. Press a thin strawberry slice on top of the peanut butter for the tongue.
- Dab a little peanut butter on the backs of the candy eyes and press above the wedge mouth to complete the face.
No-carve Pumpkins
For most parents, Halloween is a hectic night. So these little cuties are just the no-muss thing to create a festive healthy Halloween treat platter.
Ingredients:
Clementines or tangerines
Cilantro leaves (optional)
Instructions:
- With a Sharpie pen, draw cute pumpkin faces on the skin and arrange on a plate.
- Place cilantro leaves on top as pumpkin ‘leaves.’
Tangerine Pumpkins
A pre-peeled orange can encourage little ones to grab them for healthy Halloween treats before grabbing for candy.
Ingredients:
Oranges
Celery or zucchini sticks
Instructions:
- On unpeeled oranges, use a paring knife to cut little triangle eyes, noses, and mouths into oranges. Arrange on a platter.
- Peel several oranges and arrange on a platter. Insert celery or zucchini stick in the center to make a stem for each orange.
Banana Ghosties
Ingredients:
Ripe bananas
6 chocolate chips per banana
Instructions:
- Peel bananas and cut them in half. You may need to level the cut a little so the banana can stand upright if you are displaying them on a fruit tray.
- Press two chips on the banana’s ‘face’ for eyes, one chip in for a mouth. Arrange on a plate.
Low-Carb Healthy Halloween Treats for Everyone!
Devilish Eggs
Ingredients:
Premade Hard Boiled Eggs
Mayonnaise
Yellow Mustard
Dijon Mustard
Paprika
Salt
A few olives
A few slivers of red bell pepper
Instructions:
- Slice boiled eggs in half long ways, scoop out egg yolk with a spoon and set aside.
- Mix egg yolks in a bowl with mayonnaise, yellow mustard, Dijon mustard, salt, and paprika. Mix until you get a smooth and creamy texture.
- Fill egg shells with egg yolk mixture.
- Slice the olives to make little square eyes and triangle eyebrows. Slice slivers of red bell pepper to make devil horns.
Pumpkin Deviled Eggs
Ingredients:
Premade Hard Boiled Eggs
Mayonnaise
Yellow Mustard
Dijon Mustard
Paprika
Salt
Fresh Parsley
Instructions:
- Slice boiled eggs in half long ways, scoop out egg yolk with a spoon and set aside.
- Mix egg yolks in a bowl with mayonnaise, yellow mustard, Dijon mustard, salt, and paprika. Mix until you get a smooth and creamy texture.
- Spoon the filling into a frosting bag with a basket weave tip. Fill egg shells with egg yolk mixture.
- Snip a ½ inch parsley stem for each egg half and stick them into the top of each pumpkin deviled egg.
Spicy Stuffed Pumpkin
Ingredients:
Fajita Chicken Strips
Fiesta Vegetable Blend
Orange Bell Pepper (pick one with a good stem)
Salsa
Taco Seasoning
Mozzarella String Cheese
Instructions:
- Heat Fajita Chicken and Fiesta blend (available here) in the microwave until cooked through.
- Cut a layer off the top of the bell pepper, leaving the stem intact. Remove the extra insides of the bell pepper with a spoon or fork.
- Cut triangle shapes to form a face on the pepper (optional).
- Combine the chicken and fiesta blend in a bowl. Add taco seasoning and salsa to taste. Stir until mixed well.
- Stuff the pepper with the chicken mixture and top string cheese. Place the top of the pepper back on and enjoy your little pumpkin!
Candy Corn Veggie Tray
Ingredients:
Carrot Sticks
Cauliflower
Yellow Bell Pepper
Instructions:
- Arrange the vegetables in the shape of a candy corn for an extra Halloween touch.
- Serve with ranch dressing in a bowl and kids will surely be tempted by your treat!
Low-Carb Pumpkin Spice Latte
There’s no need to consume 49 grams of sugar when you want a pumpkin spice latte.
Low-Carb Pumpkin Spice Latte
Ingredients:
1 Mug of cup of hot coffee
2-4 Tablespoons unsalted butter
Pumpkin pie spice
Non-caloric sweetener
Instructions:
- Brew your coffee, pour it into your favorite mug or cup to measure the quantity you’ll need.
- Pour the hot coffee into a blender. Add the butter and blend on high for 10-15 seconds until the coffee becomes light and frothy.
- Add pumpkin pie spice and non-caloric sweetener to taste. Pulse the blender 1 second to mix it in.
- Pour into your mug and find a cozy spot to enjoy your low-carb pumpkin spice latte!

So much adorableness! I love all those foods and will plan to make some this weekend with my kiddos. I love that you said “plan for the aftermath.” I usually try to sneak as much of the candy to work for my co-workers (better them than me) to have in the breakroom the day after a big candy holiday!
