I am a contrarian at heart. I tell you this because I often don’t always see the silver lining. I tend to be skeptical (not cynical) and I have learned this after 56 years of failure and a few wins here and there.
I follow the financial markets closely. It’s my passion. Today we are living in times we may never experience again. Let me be very sincere. The #1 priority is your health, your family’s health, your spiritual health. Everything else is irrelative. EVERYTHING.
As things get worse (and they will), protect yourself. I lived in the mountains of Colorado for 10 years and learned about survival, thanks to my first roommate who was a true mountaineer and grew up in the mountains. He told me the #1 rule is: respect nature because nature always wins. How true.
Being a Texan who grew up hunting, fishing and mudding, I thought I knew the outdoors and how to survive. Boy was I wrong.
In the mountains, you first must have shelter. Shelter allows you to sleep. Sleep is more important than food and water because it allows you to think clearly. Trust me on this, if you have not slept for 24 hours in the mountains, yet you have food, you’re likely doomed. You will make bad decisions. Your panic or fears will escalate, and the result can be fatal. On the flipside, if you have not eaten for 24 hours but have slept, your body and mind are actually stronger. You will think rationally and make incredibly wise decisions.
So, why am I promoting sleep over food? Because it’s the right thing to do. Rest, rest, rest. Enjoy your home time. Visit your family using words, not texts. Relax and read a good book. Watch old movies with the ones you love.
Order our food if you need great healthy meals delivered to your doorstep. It only requires a microwave and not a lot of energy to prepare. We have plenty of food in our freezer warehouse in Texas and we are open for business as long as the state of Texas allows us to remain open.
Thank you for your business and may God Bless all of us during these trying times.
Sincerely,
Mike Starks
